Coaching

I help people to learn about themselves, make positive changes and set and achieve meaningful goals or intentions. I do this with coaching, which is essentially a highly personalised learning intervention.

I help people get a different perspective on an area they wish to develop, a problem they want to solve or transition they are navigating.

Coaching is different to training and mentoring and is a form of support that empowers. People who have had coaching describe feeling more resourceful after working with a coach.

Research shows that coaching can have a range of positive outcomes.

Coaching Tools

Tools and Techniques

I use a range of evidence-based techniques and tools to help you gain self-awareness and get a different perspective on the issue or situation that brings you to coaching.

Strengths-Based Coaching

One way to get to know yourself better is to explore your character strengths. You can explore this on your own to increase self-awareness, and you get even more out of this exploration by working with a strengths-informed coach.

A useful tool to explore character strengths is the VIA Classification of Character Strengths. This was developed by Psychologists Christopher Peterson and Martin Seligman. The VIA Classification of Strengths is an inventory of 24 character strengths, including: creativity, curiosity, kindness, fairness...

Research has linked strengths use to a range of positive outcomes related to wellbeing and performance.

A Different Location

Coaching conversations can happen indoors and outdoors. Being outside in nature can improve wellbeing and bring a new perspective, whether you are moving or sitting enjoying the view.

Reflective Thinking

Tools such as Gibbs Reflective Cycle are useful ways to think a bit deeper about events and experiences. Thinking differently helps you to learn more and can have a positive impact on your future behaviour. Working with a coach can help you develop these thinking skills.
